Description
Permabond 910 is the original “Super Glue” formula (Methyl Cyanoacrylate). Chemically distinct from modern “Ethyl” cyanoacrylates found in stores, this Methyl-based adhesive is specifically optimized for bonding metals. It forms a rigid, high-strength bond on steel, aluminum, and brass that resists aging better than standard instant adhesives. It is a low-viscosity liquid that wicks into tight gaps and fixtures in seconds.
Compatible Popular and Unique Surfaces
- Metals: Steel, Aluminum, Zinc, Brass, Copper.
- Rigid Plastics: Phenolics, Melamine, Polyester.
- Others: Ceramic, Ferrite (Magnets).
Unique and Call-Out Features
- Metal Specialist: Methyl chemistry provides superior adhesion and shear strength on metal surfaces compared to standard Ethyl CAs.
- Rigid Cure: Cures to a very hard, rigid solid, ideal for structural shear loads where flexibility is not desired.
- The “Original”: Based on the original 1950s Eastman Kodak formula that launched the industry.
- Fast Fixture: Locks parts in place in 10-15 seconds.
Pro Tip: Methyl vs. Ethyl
- Use 910 (Methyl): For Metal-to-Metal bonding.
- Use Standard CA (Ethyl): For Plastic or Rubber bonding.
